Dreams and goals

Our dreams are very different Mr Fixit and I. He wants a big ole' log cabin on 80 acres of land with a pole building FULL of toys. Four wheelers, dirt bikes, snowmobiles, go karts, tractors, backhoes, boats, jet skis etc. This was once my dream too. But now 80 acres does not sound debt free. Toys do not sound simple.

My dream is a yurt on 10 semi wooded acres and an outhouse on a hill with a view. Electricity with a wind turbine and solar panels, a few goats, chickens and a large garden. A self sustaining farm, that feeds us and with God, provides most of our needs. I want few earthy possessions. A few outfits to work in, some clothes for church, a monogrammed towel for each family member and oodles of kids.

We are not close to either dream, as I type. We live in an cute, affordable house in the middle of a midwestern rural farm town. It is lovely. Three bedrooms, a spa bathroom, that Mr Fixit built before we moved in and a fenced in backyard for our two children and dog. 1100 sq ft of someone's elses dream. Don't get me wrong, this is a great first home and I love living here, but we have a plan...
